Total attendance doubled (and foreign attendance more than doubled) at the IEG (Italian Exhibition Group) event on renewable energies and energy efficiency, a reference point in Italy, Africa and the Mediterranean basin. The event closed today at Rimini Expo Centre after three intense days of business exchanges and discussions attended by all the different players in the sector, confirming IEG’s role as a community catalyst for the world of energy transition
Held for the first time without the simultaneous presence of Ecomondo, K.EY – The Energy Transition Expo exceeded expectations, attracting numerous national, European, and non-European participants and confirming not only how Made in Italy is at the forefront in this sector, but also how highly appealing our country is to foreign producers
More than 600 brands attended the show, of which about 28% were foreign, with the main market leaders from all sectors and a significant expansion of supply chains. Over 300 foreign buyers were present – from North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America – thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ITA, the Italian Trade Agency – with over 23 International Associations
The exhibition area also doubled in size compared to previous editions: 12 halls and a completely new layout with six themed exhibition areas, one for each of the event’s six product sectors. Indeed, K.EY exhibited products and technologies for the solar, photovoltaic and storage sectors at SEC – Solar Exhibition and Conference, for wind energy at WEM – Wind Expo for Med and for technologies and projects for hydrogen production and storage at HYe. Energy efficiency and storage in industry and building, with technologies and services available to companies to optimise their energy consumption and reduce their carbon footprint, were on display in the transversal EFFI – Energy Efficiency Expo area. And then the eME – e-Mobility Expo and Sustainable City areas dedicated respectively to electric and sustainable mobility, from charging infrastructures to interconnected mobility services and the smart city. And in the highly topical Sustainable Building District, focus on sustainable building, in collaboration with the main partner Green Building Council Italy
CONFERENCES, SUMMITS AND NETWORKING
K.EY – The Energy Transition Expo strengthened Key Energy’s leadership on energy efficiency and energy transition issues and consolidated its role as a reference network for all the communities involved, fostering constant dialogue with institutions and connecting the sector’s key players, thanks to a full programme of events and international conferences defined by K.EY’s Technical-Scientific Committee chaired by Prof. Gianni Silvestrini
The K.EY ENERGY SUMMIT – States General of Renewable Sources was also held for the first time, providing a moment of public discussion promoted by ANEV, Elettricità Futura, ITALIA SOLARE, Consorzio Italiano Biogas, Federidroelettrica, ANIE Rinnovabili, Assoidroelettrica and Coordinamento FREE in order to submit organic and coordinated proposals to the Government, which were welcomed by the Vice Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Vannia Gava. A second, but no less important new entry, was the presentation of the 1st Report on the production geography of renewables in Italy, promoted and organised by Fondazione Symbola and Italian Exhibition Group in collaboration with the sector’s main trade associations. The aim is to reconstruct, together with leading Italian market players, the characteristics and territorial and sectorial distribution of the companies operating in the renewable energy supply chain
FORUMTECH AND DPE
Held at the same time as K.EY was the third edition of ForumTech, ITALIA SOLARE´s training and information event, which this year focused on the role of storage systems in the electricity market, the technological challenges for O&M in Italy and end-of-life management of photovoltaic modules
Also in conjunction with K.EY was DPE The European Exhibition of Electrical Power Systems, the European event dedicated to the entire ecosystem of electrical generation, distribution, safety and automation, organised by the Italian Exhibition Group in collaboration with the Distributed Generation Association – Engines, Components, Generators centralised into ANIMA Confindustria
K.EY was also a success in the media with an OTS of 382.3 million potential contacts. The same can be said of the GreenTech Insights (GTI) digital platform, the network that unites the Green&Technology trade show communities, with 131,210 professional viewings, as well as of the A-World App (with the K.EY challenge
K.EY will be back at Italian Exhibition Group’s Rimini Expo Centre from 28th February to 1st March 2024. For the world of sustainability, IEG’s next appointments will be at CDEPE (Chengdu, China, 30th March – 1st April), Ecomondo Mexico (Guadalajara, Mexico, 26th April – 28th April) and then with Ecomondo, from 7th to 10th November, at Rimini Expo Centre
